Clean Air and Cars? It’s Not a Contraditions in Terms (20 July)

Even in California, having clean air doesn’t mean you have to give up cars.

Proof of that is at the second annual South Pasadena Clear Air Car Show and Film Festival.

Check it out this Sunday because there’s a lot of liberal usage of my favorite four-lettered word: free.

Free admission. Free snacks. Free movies. Free water and free give-aways. You can, of course, buy things as well.

The festival starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. at El Centro Street and Fair Oaks Ave. A free shuttle brings you from the Mission Gold Line station.

Plug-in hybrids, electric, hydrogen, fuel cells and PZEV. Mini-seminars on all sorts of stuff like climate change, the effect of pollution on health and alternative fuels (of course).

Someone promised me a ride in a solar car, so I’m going.

The films include:

The 11th Hour: 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Arctic Tale: 1:30 p.m.

Films will be shown at the Rialto.
